Open Call - E17 Art Trail Group Show

E17 based arts development organisation Artillery is working with Dark Yellow Dot to curate a large group exhibition for this summer's E17 Art Trail 2021.

​This is an opportunity to display artwork at this year's festival hub for the E17 Art Trail - Gnome House, an art centre close to Blackhorse Tube Station, Walthamstow, between 1-18 July. 

Whether you're a seasoned exhibitor, or it's your first time exhibiting, we encourage you to enter. Submit your VERY BEST work, high quality images, and artist bio via the Dark Yellow Dot website. 

We welcome proposals from:

• Artists living or working in or near Waltham Forest, London 
• Practicing, emerging or studying artists
• Community arts facilitators or practitioners
• Artist groups
• Workshop facilitators

Artillery is seeking a Community Events Health & Safety Advisor to support our creative network in preparing for the E17 Art Trail in 2021. 

The Health & Safety Advisor will provide information and support to Artillery core team, volunteers, and E17 Art Trail participating artists, businesses, and community contributors around:

- Their responsibilities in relation to health and safety at creative activities / events, both for those delivering and those participating.
- How to identify potential health and safety risks at participative creative activities, exhibitions, performances, events and tours, and mitigations for these.
- Their responsibilities and best practice in relation to health, wellbeing and safeguarding for online events.

The role is likely to include delivering some group training, some 1-1 surgeries, and some site visits within Waltham Forest, especially Walthamstow,  (COVID-19 restrictions permitting).

The Health & Safety Advisor will be engaged as hands-on freelance consultant.  

Fee
Artillery is able to offer a fee of £6000 inclusive of VAT and costs for a freelance Community Events Health and Safety Advisor with a minimum of 20 delivery days.

​Hi All
 
We are writing to see if you would be interested in creating some quick turnaround content as part of a new digital/online programming strand from Waltham Forest Arts Service. This will be the start of our 2020 programme of hope, positive action and practical support for the creative sector In Waltham Forest and for residents and has been created as an urgent response to the Covid19 pandemic.
 
We would like to commission artists of all disciplines who are ready and set up to produce filmed work, live streams, online workshops or other digital projects and can produce content quickly in the next few weeks. The thinking behind the programme is to support quarantine and lock down by providing fun and interactive activities, connect people through working on a collaborative projects plus providing paid work opportunities for artists and creatives in Waltham Forest. We are looking for activity suitable for all residents – families, older people, teenagers, young adults –either targeted work that will appeal to a particular age group or a more general offer. This could be in any discipline but MUST be virtual and not require physical events or face to face meetings. Specifically we are looking for ideas around the following:

• Projects that are hopeful
• Only projects and content that can be delivered virtually
• A selection of projects suitable for different age groups
• Simple workshops or content that does not require lots of materials for people to take part (what can be done with only paper and pencil, kitchen pots and pans, digitally or with movement?)
• Simple interactive projects that create a feeling of togetherness and work towards a collective goal
• you must be able to deliver your proposed workshop/project using equipment you can access now

 
However we are hoping to be able to provide the following support – please let us know If you have any other specific support needs:

• One to one/small group advice about filming new content – discussing what you need to consider before you begin
• Crib sheets with info
• Support with editing of videos and creating title sequences etc.
• Support with communications

 
We can offer fees ranging from:

• £250  for simple one off workshops or performance
• up to £1000 for more complex or longer running projects

 
This is the start of a bigger programme so if you are not yet ready to go or set up there will be other opportunities available in the next few months, you’ll still be able to apply for these if you deliver a project now.
This initial phase of commissions is for work that can be created and delivered quickly and simply. If you have an existing workshops or project idea that fits these criteria please send an email with a simple proposal, ideally by Friday 27 March but we will accept proposals until Monday 30 March. We are aiming that the first content will be live by 6 April with additional work being created throughout April and May.   We’ll be selecting projects to ensure that we have a balanced and varied programme.
